In 1968 when MST was founded it was entrusted with a mission region comprising of three districts in MP. They were Ujjain, Shajapur, and Rajgarh. Later it was raised to a diocese . MST priests worked in the Diocese and developed most of the mission stations for the diocese. In 2008 region of MST was extended to all the Syro-malabar dioceses of North India. and started to own its own institutions.
The Missionary Society of St Thomas the Apostle (MST) is a missionary venture of the Syro-Malabar Church. The main thrust of the MST is to foster and promote missionary activities of the Church.Forty five years down the road, the Society has come a long way in the missionary activities in India and abroad. Today MST has 322 priest members witnessing the Gospel in eleven different countries in five continents. The Society has over 100 candidates under five stages of formation in its own centers of formation manned by well qualified and experienced teams of formators.
